Amazonian I / The Grimace of a Dreamer

In February 2024 my painting “Amazonian I/The Grimace of a Dreamer” received the “Golden Art Award” – Best of the Best Art, from the International Art Group “Colors Shade Art Community”. This painting has a very deep emotional meaning to me, since it was the first one of a painting collection inspired in the Amazon beauties. It was the first of this collection and it is the last one I have decided to sell. It is absolutely the result of my imagination, at the time of creating a face, all immerse in the thick vegetation of the Amazon. This is my self-portrait. But don't expect to identify any of my facial features in it, because my intention wasn't to paint what I look like. What I wanted was to paint what I am, and in that sense, among many other things, I am a lifelong dreamer. I've never been to the Amazon, but my greatest dream is to live in that jungle region, surrounded by its dense vegetation and rich nature. Therefore, this is a portrait of what I am: a great dreamer. And as such, I was able to create my self-portrait within the context of an Amazonian environment.
