“The ephemeral versus what might be enduring and, perhaps, imperishable”
In my painting "The Garden of Eden" I have represented an ephemeral, fleeting action giving it that nuance of something that endures and, perhaps, would be imperishable.
An action, ephemeral because it lasts only a moment in the lives of two people for instance, such as Adam eating the forbidden apple when tempted by Eve, has transcended human history to become an everlasting legacy that has inspired writers, poets, filmmakers, and artists of all genres and throughout time.
My painting "The Garden of Eden," which captures precisely that ephemeral action of Adam eating the apple, shows that nuance of the ephemeral versus what is enduring and, perhaps, imperishable, which consists in how precisely a fleeting action can be transformed into an everlasting artwork.
For sure, I believe that Art, in general, is an ideal vehicle for capturing the ephemeral and giving it that connotation of endurance over time.
