Do you know?

Our Gallery receives many online applications for the
exhibitions we conduct. We decided to put together some tips to help you to
improve your chances to be selected for an exhibition and possibly receive an
award.
- Read exhibition terms. Check if the work you want to submit is
allowed for the competition. (i.e. do not submit watercolor work for the
photography exhibition...)
- Submit the best possible image of your artwork. Make sure your
photo is made from the right angle.
- Crop an image if necessary. It should not have anything else
besides the artwork itself. No parts of your table, no holding fingers, no
garbage cans somewhere on the background. Do not leave a background unless it
is absolutely necessary or it is a part of an installation.
- Add a good description of your artwork. After curators looked
at your artwork, they read your description. Try to make it interesting. This
can definitely influence a curator's decision.
- In the description, explain how your work is related to the
exhibition theme.
- Make sure you add correct measurements (in inches or
centimeters) and media.
- After you submit a work, share it in our group "People & Paintings Open". This will
be the first part of your promotion. Even if you will not be selected for the
exhibition, your work will be seen.
We purposely added the button "Share" at the end of
the submission process. On some rare occasions, the curator is undecided,
people's reactions in the group may help to choose one work over another.
- Comment and share your own work. This may help you to win the
Popular Vote Award.
We hope these tips will help you to succeed as an artist.
Good luck.
