Artists of the Week: A Celebration of Summer

 

Summer has a way of slowing us down just enough to notice the extraordinary hidden in ordinary moments. The warmth of sunlight, the movement of water, blooming landscapes, quiet evenings, and vibrant city scenes all become sources of inspiration.

This week's Artists of the Week selection brings together five remarkable artists whose works capture the many moods of the season—from tranquil reflections to radiant color and emotional storytelling.

Throughout the week, we will feature two selected artworks from each artist, inviting you to discover the unique vision behind every piece.

Igor Dubovoy – The Poetry of Light

Born in Moscow, Igor creates atmospheric landscapes and seascapes where light becomes the main storyteller. Whether working in oil or watercolor, his paintings celebrate fleeting moments—a glowing sunrise, the calm of the sea, or the gentle warmth of a summer morning. His restrained palette and sensitive brushwork evoke serenity and invite viewers to pause and appreciate nature's quiet beauty.

Evgenia Klimenko – Painting Emotions Through Everyday Beauty

Ukrainian artist Evgenia believes that painting is a timeless language capable of expressing feelings beyond words. Rooted in figurative tradition while embracing a contemporary sensibility, her works often transform familiar subjects—boats, flowers, landscapes, or simple everyday scenes—into emotional experiences. Lenny Khimishman – Color, Rhythm, and Imagination

Originally from Moscow and now based in the United States, Lenny combines decades of experience in graphic arts with an expressive artistic vision. His works frequently explore abstraction, rhythm, and the emotional power of color, creating compositions that feel both spontaneous and carefully balanced. Inspired by travel, design, and photography, Khimishman's art encourages viewers to experience summer not only as a landscape, but as a vibrant state of mind.

Anna Drik – Minimalism with Emotional Depth

Anna's artistic language is defined by elegant simplicity. Through clean compositions and carefully chosen details, she creates works that leave space for contemplation and personal interpretation. Her minimalist aesthetic captures subtle emotions and fleeting moments, reminding us that summer is often found in quiet gestures, soft light, and the beauty of stillness rather than spectacle.

Vitaliy Gonikman – Urban Landscapes Full of Life

Raised in Odessa and now living in the United States, Vitaliy is known for expressive SF cityscapes and architectural compositions inspired by his lifelong fascination with urban environments. His paintings balance structure with atmosphere, transforming familiar streets into vibrant visual narratives. In his summer-inspired works, cities become places of warmth, movement, and human connection, reflecting the energy of the season through dynamic color and thoughtful composition.
