Bio: With depth, clarity and a bold flourish of movement and color, YUKAKO's paintings evoke the spontaneity of jazz, the harmony of lyric poetry, and the naturalism of dance. As a lifetime practitioner of Japanese calligraphy, and as an accomplished painter of modern art, Yukako incorporates diverse techniques and styles in ways that have become uniquely her own. The results are simply beautiful.

Born in Hirosaki City, Japan, and raised near its varied and expansive apple orchards, YUKAKO's creativity was apparent early and nurtured throughout.  As an artist, she went on to live and work in the cities of Amsterdam, Singapore, and San Francisco, all the while, bridging the worlds of tradition and modernity, both of the East and the West.

Her large painting was bid and sold at CHRISTIE'S AUCTION, her artworks have been shown at Rockefeller Center, the Paris American Academy in Paris, Ueno Museum in Tokyo, the United Nations, the Salmagundi Club of New York City, Knox Gallery, Ceres Gallery, Gallery Tanaka-ya, Gallery NOVITA, Tenri Cultural Institute, German House at United Nation Plaza, the Manhattan Borough President's Office, Chase Bank, TD bank, Affordable Art Fair, Broadway Mall, City College of New York, Helene Fuld College of Nursing, St. Francis College in Brooklyn, and others.
As a designated solo artist, continuously selected to grace the cover of the 4 editions of the “Compendium, MUSIC AS A GLOBAL RESOURCE: Solutions for Social and Economics Issues” published by the United Nations Headquarters in New York and in cooperation with the United Nations, UN-Habitat, International Council of Caring Communities and South-South News. The image for the 5th edition is assigned and scheduled in the following UN Compendium.

Her paintings and drawings are in the Permanent Collections of The Art Students League of New York, the Grace Institute, and in many other collections in the US, Europe, Brazil and Japan.

Has taught at The Art Students League of New York, and is a lifetime member of The ASL and a Vice President/Director of the Japanese Artists Association of New York, YUKAKO currently resides in NYC.
