"Secret Woods" signifies for me the incredible beauty of our natural world and how it springs to life in its rightly season. It was inspired by a photo I took at Secret Woods Nature Center in Dania Beach, Florida. The center is designed with boardwalks throughout, so visitors can walk through the beautiful space and get close to the natural species there. The spatial dynamics of pathways - like walkways, corridors, and ramps - intrigue me and pull me in. This particular walkway had branches of a beautiful trees hovering over and around it, and I tried to capture the canopy effect in this work.
