The opera that I chose for my work was "Faust", which tells the story of an intelligent man with a life full of achievements who is seduced by the devil to acquire more knowledge and pleasures. My painting is made in a technique that mixes abstract elements with figurative painting. The scene portrays the moment in which Faust makes the pact with Mephistopheles in his study, the background is made in such a way as to mix the celestial and divine part in the upper part of the painting, while the middle part represents the wonders and temptations earthly. In the foreground, Faust is seen on the left and Mephistopheles on the right, pointing to a world of knowledge and possibility. The scene is based on the staging of the national opera in Paris in October 2011.
