The painting shows a dark courtyard which is flooded with sunshine. Someone is leaving. Where will she go? Which path will he choose? And why isn't he looking at the sun or the light or those paper swallows flying from above? These are the questions I want to ask through my paintings - where are we going? Why don't people see the beauty right next to them?
