Evgenia Klimenko is an artist whose work is deeply rooted in the figurative tradition, yet she embraces the ever-evolving landscape of contemporary art. Her passion for painting is unwavering, as she finds profound joy and meaning in creating art. While conceptual art often reflects societal issues, Klimenko views her own work as a means to convey moods, atmospheres, and feelings—expressed through traditional materials and techniques. She believes that, much like language, art remains a timeless tool for communicating thoughts and emotions. For Klimenko, painting is both a personal journey and a way to preserve memories, as she continues to find beauty in the simple things—landscapes, boats, houses, and everyday objects. Each piece she creates is an exploration of her unique perspective, emotions, and the endless possibilities of artistic expression. Caring for Nature is Caring for Ourselves

In the current context of environmental crisis, global conflicts, and the effects of climate change, we need a new way of relating to nature, to the planet we inhabit, and to each other as humanity. Nature and its resources are not infinite, yet our global economy acts as if they were. The crises we face stem from the way we relate to nature, as we fail to understand that its ecosystems cannot be overexploited due to their roles in climate regulation and the self-regulation of various processes. Ecosystems are interconnected and enable the stabilization of the climate, biogeochemical cycles, and biodiversity. From clouds to algae, every element plays a part in these processes. There are planetary boundaries we must respect to ensure our survival. Therefore, it is essential to care for nature, respect it, and understand that we are part of it. Recognizing and honoring its vast biodiversity is also the first step toward a more harmonious humanity. Money is worthless if we do not have a planet in good condition to enjoy and if we fail to foster good relations among our peoples. “Nature does not belong to us; we belong to it.”

Personal Diary: 36 Months 1095 Days Personal Diary: 36 Months presents a visual narrative of three transformative years. Rather than documenting events in words, this exhibition tells its story through color, light, texture, and rhythm — the language I know best. The works are intentionally arranged as a kaleidoscope rather than in chronological or thematic order. Moving fluidly between the outer world and inner experience, they reflect the shifting dialogue between what surrounds us and what unfolds within. Created between 2023 and 2026, these works trace a deeply personal yet universal journey. Each piece is an honest response to a simple question: “Where am I at this very second?” Over the course of thirty-six months, the world — both external and internal — changed profoundly. For me, this period became a time of emotional inventory. Each artwork functions as a diary entry, capturing not outward events, but emotional imprints. Despite the title Personal Diary, this exhibition is not enclosed or private. Visual language — gestures, gradients, contrasts, and rhythms — speaks without words. The viewer is invited not to decode secrets, but to connect with the mechanics of memory itself, and perhaps recognize fragments of their own story within these “pages.” A Shift in Medium, A Shift in Perspective These three years also mark a transition in material and technique — from the classical density of oil painting to the dynamism and layered vitality of acrylic. Acrylic’s immediacy — its ability to dry quickly and respond to the present moment — allowed me to work at the tempo of life itself: here and now. Where oil required patience and deliberation, acrylic introduced directness and energy. Pastel remains close to my heart, but alongside the change in material came an evolution in color. Acrylic makes it possible to work with pure pigment, and this vibrancy became essential to expressing the emotional states of this period. Thirty-six months is long enough to witness change — not only in technique, but in the way we see and understand the world. And perhaps, in that span of time, each of us lives an entire lifetime.

Eyes: a passage to the inner world

Some people say that human eyes are an open door to the soul or “the windows to the soul”. Well, eyes are a beautiful “instrument“ which defines the human face, with a specific shape, not very simple, but not very complicated to draw, if the artist understand the geometrical shapes and the anatomy. Eyes are maybe the most important feature of any portrait, in pictures, paintings, drawings, art in general and of course in a face to face connection. All the light provided by the world is captured by eyes and everything around us is somehow rendered by them in colors and information sent to the brain. In Bible says “your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are unhealthy, your body also is full of darkness.” Our world is governed by light and darkness and “eyes“ with “ears“ are the “instruments“ that helps us to see and hear, but in the way we choose; the light within will reflect through eyes the soul of a person, because every detail that was captured by them will build in time what we are, let’s call it our personality, our image, our authenticity. Eyes can reveal the light and clarity, to madness and tragedy. This art exhibition is open to everyone and every art technique from drawing, painting to photography and more personal innovative medium. The central focus must be on eye shape, the look, the emotional touch, represented in a portrait or a composition. Every idea is welcome from a realistic approach to an abstract concept. Moon

What does Moon mean to you? When to find moon in the night sky, you might feel so happy and your heart pounds with joy as to find a treasure in a box. Moon makes our heart so warm and relaxing. Moon is always watching us whether brightly and visibly, or quietly from behind the clouds, no matter where we are. Moon is like a mother who is always caring her children. I believe we human and all creatures are protected by Moon. In this painting, I express my nostalgia with an autumn harvests (Japanese large chrysanthemums, Japanese silver grasses), nature (Moon, Mt. Iwaki in my hometown Aomori prefecture) and creatures (Dragon flies, a cat), which are shined by Moon. A cat looks up Moon, nostalgically thinking of her hometown in autumn.
