About this artwork
I buy a pumpkin every autumn from my local supermarket in NYC. I really like drawing pumpkins, especially pumpkins that have a kind of dark personality, pumpkins that are deep and complicated and noble and are not just there for the Halloween party. I could draw or paint pumpkins all day. I always like to see the pumpkins come out in October, they make me want to protect and paint them, and talk to them and love them. Pumpkins! That is why I called this picture Beloved Pumpkin.
