About this artwork
Many cultures considered the kapok tree a symbol of the link between heaven, earth and the world that was believed to exist below. After completing the painting, I learned the subject had other significance in that when the original Art Club was razed in St Petersburg, FL, this much-loved KAPOK TREE was planted to commemorate the Art Club moving to its new location.
