About this artwork
Outdoor rock climbing photography was my initial visual art interest-paid well; i saw my work in magazines... Developing as an artist painter took years, improving results- too precious to sell. A fellow climber praised an experimental watercolor- "If you made this larger, it would be a knockout..." Meanwhile, climbing gyms became more practical; so when a new gym (with lots of wall space opened), i had a demo ready to go which evolved into a 40x60 inch commission. Others followed. Two appeared in People and Paintings exhibitions: "Spring Tradition" and "Equilibrium." I sometimes use a female climber because women climb as competently as men. I enjoy the design, texture and coloration of doing semi abstract Gym Commissions and feel they are now my best work...
