This painting represents a gymnasium pupil of the end of the 19th century. The boy looks neat and diligent. He studies well, follows all the teacher's instructions and maybe misses his family. However, there is another hidden life. In the dark gloomy corridors and dull rooms there are enormous ghostly insects. The boy communicates with them in his imagination. One of those insects got on an ancient photograph. Is it a fantasy or reality?
