The Two Faces of Love
About this artwork
In November 2023 this painting was exposed, after a curated selection process, in the International Virtual Collective Exhibition “The Art of Empathy”, by Venezuela Aries, Art Gallery. In February 2024 it received the Certificate of Appreciation by Art Angels France International Art Group, recognizing this painting´s outstanding contribution to this Group. "The Two Faces of Love" is inspired in so many melodies that show Love as an idyllic state between two humans. But in my painting, I wanted to represent a more realistic approach: the luminous side with its the dark spots. I created two images that suggest those two sides of Love, where physical attraction and lack of love coexist in the same relationship, with contrasting feelings moving up and down all the time. It shows a new way of conceiving visual art by the artist. It shows the elegance of the shapes and, above all, the sobriety of the color, which contrasts with the explosive symphony of bright colors in other works by Zaplaflora.
