Abandoned

About this artwork

The subject of the painting i.e. dirty and abandoned military boots represents the reality of wars, their inevitable and senseless outcome of losing human lives and leaving everything, boots, memories, loved ones behind. At least that was my message to convey with this artwork. It may though, in a more utopistic world, symbolize the human race that has finally realized that in order to flourish and enjoy a peaceful life we need to abandon warmongering forever. As a final remembrance of the last war the boots are taken off for good and abandoned as is. This work is a specific representation of my artistic aspiration towards depicting materials and texture in their finest form, in this case the leather before the run-down background.
