"Landscape Through My Eyes" — A New Juried Exhibition Curated by Geanina M. Zaharia
31 Aug 2026

What does a landscape mean when seen through an individual artistic perspective? Is it a real place, a remembered view, an emotion translated into an image, or perhaps a landscape that exists only in the imagination?
These questions lie within Landscape Through My Eyes, the upcoming juried online exhibition presented by People & Paintings Gallery. The exhibition invites artists to explore the theme of landscape from their own personal and creative perspective, welcoming diverse interpretations, styles and artistic approaches.
The exhibition will take place online from September 7 to September 18, 2026. Artists can submit original works in 2D or 3D formats, with the gallery encouraging participants to include a supporting statement explaining the connection between their work and the exhibition theme. Twenty artworks will be selected by the exhibition curator and featured on the gallery's main-page rotation banner throughout the exhibition. The selected works will also receive Certificates of Selection and will be promoted through the gallery's social media channels.
The exhibition also includes several awards: a $100 Curator's Award, a $100 Gallery Award, and a $50 Popular Vote Award. The selected artworks will be announced by September 6, while the awards will be announced by September 20, 2026.
Meet the Curator: Geanina M. Zaharia
The exhibition is curated by Geanina M. Zaharia, a professional artist and exhibition curator From Romania, based in the United States. With a degree in graphic art and animation, Zaharia has developed an artistic practice encompassing illustration, portraiture, art composition and animation. In recent years, she has focused particularly on realistic portrait drawing in graphite pencil.
Her own artistic statement reveals a strong interest in beauty, natural details and the expressive potential of the human face. She is particularly drawn to the subtle interplay of shadows, different shades of grey, textures and forms created through pencil on paper.
Alongside her artistic practice, Geanina has established herself as an exhibition curator with a clear interest in supporting artists from different backgrounds, ages and artistic styles. Her profile also features numerous graphite pencil portraits, including Anne with an E and VIKING, reflecting her distinctive approach to portrait drawing.
With Landscape Through My Eyes, Geanina now turns her curatorial attention toward the many ways artists can interpret and transform the idea of landscape.
