Everything about Elusive speaks of the precise moment where speed & power, balance to create amazing movement. The grain of the marble, aerodynamic curves & precise balance point of the design, work together to create the illusion of movement in this very still and beautiful selection of Danby Marble.
This piece of marble was rescued when a downtown Dallas building was scheduled to be demolished. Everyone expected the brick building to yield brick debris. To their surprise, underneath the brick was a beautiful layer of 8” thick Vermont Danby Marble. The marble was relocated to the Creative Arts Center of Dallas and one of the slabs has found a new life as this spunky little running bunny.
Elusive was several years in the making. Begun in 2015, it was not completed until the summer of 2018. While a few cracked ribs and hand injuries delayed the completion of Elusive, it waited patently for me to complete it’s journey!
