Portal guides us into tomorrow... if we are brave enough to take the first step.
A staircase carved and patiently awaiting its first explorer. Sitting in the ruble that was its former self. Wind and tide gently tease ruble into place and whisper through Portal’s cave, beckoning the explorer to clime. Climb with confidence into an unknown place and space. Climb, even though, not knowing what awaits on the other side.
By design, Portal can be displayed in many different configurations. Vertical on a horizon of shards, horizontal on an island nest of shards, vertical on a swirling eddy of shards... or any combination you can imagine!
As with many of my sculptures, Portal was created from discarded stone. Portal was born from the remnants of my scupture Optimism Eternal. It's always exciting when I can use 100% of a stone, a non-renewable resource, in the creation of meaningful art!
