The Spirit of Perserverance

The Spirit of Preservation was created as a tribute monument to the memory of Virginia Savage McAlester. It resides at the Aldredge House Museum on historic Swiss Ave. in Dallas TX. Originally designed for the neighborhood butterfly garden park as a tribute to Ms. McAlester and a bench to sit and view, photograph and sketch pollinators, it was relocated to the museum prior to it's completion due to conflicting neighborhood opinions about the placement of a memorial sculpture. The project is valued at approximately $80,000 including the sculpture, landscaping, lighting, installation and unveiling ceremony.
