About this artwork

The poem "Life is not a theatre" by Edward Stachura begins with the following words: "Life is a theatre, you talk all the time, you tell stories; You put on different masks, more and more wrong ones; It's all fun, it's all one game With the door open and closed. It's a game!" This, among other things, inspired me to paint the painting "Venetian Masks XXIII".
