About this artwork
This was used as the key piece for the “shadowlands” exhibition, curated by the artist. It represents the way that, in the midst of shadows and darkness, the individual spirit can and must take control of their own direction. This is no helpless being; this is a powerful figure taking command and pointing out the direction to be taken. To me, this is an analogy for the personal way I deal with living with Parkinson’s Disease.
