“Still dancing” is a heavily layered, textured painting which resurrects old resentments about the physical disability caused by Parkinson’s. It offers a portrayal of a figure full of colour and the potential for energy. But the legs are merged, hardly exist, certainly fixed. Like a kind of mermaid, this figure is learning to move differently in a different environment. It will get there.
