This is paper I deliberately made imperfect by crumpling it. I think the crumpling inspired the moody, witchy drawing that manifested during my process of working on it . As you say, the crumbled paper and my style of drawing is not a flaw but a signature — a testimony of human presence, of the subjective gaze. I like the presence of the hand in my work, and crumpled paper tells you that a hand was involved in this picture.
