Re-emergence reimagined

About this artwork

As with any sale or donation of a painting the original painting called Re-emergence, it was lost to me. It was a painting that meant so much that I had a print made for myself, with the new owner’s agreement, just for me. But of course, a print is not the same. Double loss. So I painted over it, retaining some of the original shapes, enhancing the colours but totally reworking the top and found a whole new painting. Albeit one with a highly unusual provenance. To me, that’s a metaphor for life with Parkinson’s. You recreate given what you have left and you find something very new.
