Losing and Finding
byTed_Kennedy
About this artwork
This collage includes papers lost the found in a Sucre tin bought in a French street market and the very small photographs were found in a vintage camera case. The image on the right is my mother holding me with my cousin. Old photos are one way to hold onto or find again those who have pass on. The small child on the left looking a little forlorn and isolated is me in the early 1950s. As we grow old I think we all mourn the loss of that childhood, we gain, ‘find’ experience but lose some of that childhood innocence. This sketch is part of a series of works based around memories.
