Exhibition Information
When we say ephemerality we enter a vast field of existence, because everything that lives it is ultimately consumed. Thus the ephemeral includes pieces of stories, flashes, selected moments, chosen moments.
The ephemeral selects and emphasizes the essential.
By ephemeral we mean everything transitory, temporary, passing or fugitive: a sunrise, the fascinating colors of a special sunset which is completely changed when you look again, a falling leaf, the journey of a snowflake, a moment of pure joy, a smile, a moment with our loved ones, everyone's face transformed over time, a reunion, a separation, every happy or sad moment, all the memories, almost anything you can think of because everything passes, changes and is consumed by time - everything that we are and everything we live is ephemeral.
Moments slip through our fingers second by second...
The ephemeral becomes the tragic of our existence, but it is also what makes us live to the fullest, not to waste time, to add life and value to our days and years. It's such a complex concept, with so many shades, and that's why I think it's such a good artistic theme. What do you first think of when you hear the term „ephemera”? We warmly invite you to answer this question with an image to include in this exhibition.

Exhibition Terms
Applications:
All artworks must be original and submitted by the author. The artist is responsible for the submission.
For this exhibition, we accept all media.
We highly encourage all artists to accompany all submissions with a supporting statement that explains the relationship between the work and the theme of the exhibition. In making the final decision, the curator will be looking carefully at the supporting statements as well as the actual images.
Applications are accepted on our site until April 4, 2025.

The House Artists are allowed to participate in exhibitions with independent curators.
The House Artists will not be able to receive the Gallery Award (where the Gallery is involved in selecting the winner).
Applications:
Applications period: November 3, 2024 - April 4, 2025 - $10 first artwork ($5 for every additional artwork included in the same application).
Exhibition:
Exhibition dates: April 7, 2025 - April18, 2025
The 20 artworks selected by the Exhibition Curator will be exhibited on the main page rotation banner on our site for the duration of the exhibition.
Within two weeks of the exhibition, each of the 20 selected artworks will also be posted on our main Facebook Page and other media accounts we curate: Gallery Instagram, Gallery Twitter, Gallery Pinterest, Alignable
Prizes and Awards:
1) 20 artworks will be chosen by our Exhibition Curator. Each selected artwork will receive a Certificate of Selection
2) Curator’s Award (Monetary Prize $100)
3) Gallery Award (Monetary Prize $100) - awarded by the Exhibition Curator and People & Paintings Gallery
4) Popular Vote Award (Monetary Prize $50) – will receive the artwork with the most “likes” on this page of our website during the exhibition (April 7, 2025 - April18, 2025)
We highly recommend posting all applied artworks to our Facebook group “People& Paintings Open”. To help, we added the button “Share” to the application process.
Gallery reserves a right to choose the winner in this category if the numbers of likes in the sources above will be compromised or contested.
Results:
1) The 20 selected artworks will be announced by Sunday, April 6, 2025
2) The “Gallery Prize”, the “Curator’s Award” and the “Popular Vote Award” will be announced by Sunday, April 20, 2025
Additional Information:
After you submit the application, we highly recommend posting each applied artwork to our Facebook group “People& Paintings Open”. To help, we added a button “Share” to the application process.
After the exhibition is over, we will keep the exhibition works available to the audience in the “Previous Exhibitions” section.
After the Exhibition Catalog is ready, you will be able to download it for free from the exhibition page on our site.
