Exhibition Information
I named this exhibition DREAM AND REALITY, because we, ARTISTS, not like «regular” people, have rich imagination and our creative process is not limited by all, what we see around us, but we use imagination., to bring our DREAMS and our VISION to reality in a form of paintings, drawings, sculptures, collages, using big variety of mediums, including even digital! Despite all, mentioned above, I respect basic art education and its principles, like composition, perspective, proportion, etc. When I look at painting, I consider combination of colors, besides composition and strokes and texture, as well as mastery of application. The same time, in black and white drawing, I look at a hand stroke, no matter if it is pencil, pen and ink or brush drawing. Naturally, talented artist can make only few strokes and trained eye immediately will recognize mastery. I would like to thank you for submitting your art to POEOPLE and PAINTING GALLERY and wish you success in your future shows and creative endeavors!

Art exhibition organized by the People & Paintings Gallery and curated by the prominent artist, curator and actor from New York Grigory Gurevich.
Artists are welcome to submit works in variety of mediums, including short videos, two minutes maximum with the theme of DREAM AND REALITY, meaning fantasy and realistic art work.
Judging will be based on quality of form and content, meaning that artists will present art in their best ability to express themselves in selected material, matching emotional character of selected subject, or clearly expressed realistic image, including combination of composition, proportion and perspective, combined with material, selected for particular subject.

Exhibition Terms
Applications:
All artworks must be original and submitted by the author. The artist is responsible for the submission.
Exhibition is open for artists, working in any media: painting, sculpture, drawing, ceramics, photography and even short video, up to 50 seconds length.
We highly encourage all artists to accompany all submissions with a supporting statement that explains the relationship between the work and the theme of the exhibition. In making the final decision, the curator will be looking carefully at the supporting statements as well as the actual images.
Applications are accepted on our site until March 1, 2024.

The House Artists are allowed to participate in exhibitions with independent curators.
The House Artists will not be able to receive the Gallery Award (where the Gallery is involved in selecting the winner).
Applications:
Early Bird Applications (Until January 31, 2024) - $7 per artwork ($4 for every additional artwork included in the same application).
Applications period: February 1, 2024 - March 1, 2024 - $10 first artwork ($5 for every additional artwork included in the same application).
Exhibition:
Exhibition dates: March 4, 2024 - March 15, 2024
The 20 artworks selected by the Exhibition Curator will be exhibited on the main page rotation banner on our site for the duration of the exhibition.
Within two weeks of the exhibition, each of the 20 selected artworks will also be posted on our main Facebook Page and other media accounts we curate: Gallery Instagram, Gallery Twitter, Gallery Pinterest, Alignable
Prizes and Awards:
1) 20 artworks will be chosen by our Exhibition Curator. Each selected artwork will receive a Certificate of Selection
2) Curator’s Award (Monetary Prize $100)
3) Gallery Award (Monetary Prize $100) - awarded by the Exhibition Curator and People & Paintings Gallery
4) Popular Vote Award (Monetary Prize $50) – will receive the artwork with the most “likes” on this page of our website during the exhibition (March 4, 2024 - March 15, 2024)
We highly recommend posting all applied artworks to our Facebook group “People& Paintings Open”. To help, we added the button “Share” to the application process.
Gallery reserves a right to choose the winner in this category if the numbers of likes in the sources above will be compromised or contested.
Results:
1) The 20 selected artworks will be announced by Sunday, March 3, 2024
2) The “Gallery Prize”, the “Curator’s Award” and the “Popular Vote Award” will be announced by Sunday, March 17, 2024
Additional Information:
After you submit the application, we highly recommend posting each applied artwork to our Facebook group “People& Paintings Open”. To help, we added a button “Share” to the application process.
After the exhibition is over, we will keep the exhibition works available to the audience in the “Previous Exhibitions” section.
After the Exhibition Catalog is ready, you will be able to download it for free from the exhibition page on our site.
